This BBQ Tempeh Rice Bowl is super easy to make, perfect for meal prep, pack-able for your food containers, packed with bold flavors that the whole family love. A naturally vegan 20 minute meal which is keeper even for the pickiest kids.

  • 1 cup rice, uncooked
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite or try my Sugar Free BBQ Sauce)
  • 10 oz tempeh
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 bunch broccolini
  • salt, pepper to taste

  1. Cut the Tempeh into half-inch sized cubes. Mix BBQ sauce and tempeh, season with salt and pepper, and get ready for baking.
  2. Preheat oven to 415°F. On a baking sheet prepared with parchment paper, distribute marinated Tempeh evenly, and bake for around 20 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile cook your rice according the manufacturer’s directions. Mine was ready in around 8 minutes.
  4. Now heat a bit of oil (or vegetable broth, if you avoid oil for any reason). Add broccolini and minced garlic and fry everything for around 6 minutes.
  5. Serve all in bowls on on plates.
