Summer time is BBQ time. And snack time. And picnic time. My favorite time. I like to just meet friends in some park, sitting on a stretch of green in the warmth of the early summer sun and just have a good time with drinks and snacks. What can be more relaxing? I can’t think of many other things short of going on a holiday.
For one of our recent spontaneous outings like this, I got a text saying: “We have bread and drinks, you bring some dip.” Someone else was going to bring along salads and more. Spontaneous times. OK, you want a dip, you get one. A quick glance into fridge and pantry confirmed that I had all the things I needed for a guacamole.
I had nearly closed the door of the fridge when I realized that there was a mango in there that I could take along. Mango? Hang on, why not try mixing that into the guacamole to make it fruity? It seemed worth to try on my friends.
I’m somewhat of a fan of sweet-and-spicy flavors. So I decided that the fruity mango had to be balanced by a slightly strong spicy component. A hot chili (or two, if you are brave), chopped and roasted went into the guacamole together with the mango, avocados, tomatoes, a diced onion, plus extra spices and herbs.
Done in 10 minutes and you are good to go to have a great time.
This Roasted-Chili Mango Guacamole goes well with bread, chips, tortillas, nachos – basically with everything dip-able. The fruity sweetness gives this guacamole its unique flavor, giving you the most awesome summer sensations.Print
