Mexican Street Corn Hot Dogs served in baskets.

Hot dogs were a thing in my childhood. Truly a favorite of mine. I can remember the big stands where you can choose your bun, toppings and sauces.

Yup it was magical for me, sometimes we made these at home in our family.

When we made these, we went for the classic combo: bun, sausage, mayo, ketchup, fried onions, pickled cucumbers from the jar. I always adored this timeless flavor.

It had just the right amount of flavors and it was the ultimate comfort food.

It’s been a long time since I enjoyed a hot dog, because everything has changed when I turned vegan. You can read the full story About Contentedness Cooking, if you want to know more.

But that doesn’t mean I can’t have my beloved childhood memory food. Yes, I truly can and will.

This idea came to my mind because I know you guys are loving this Mexican Street Corn Potato Casserole and also the creamy flavors of this entertaining Mexican Street Corn Potato Salad.

You know Mexican Street Corn is a kind of signature of mine and these Mexican Street Corn Hot Dogs are no exception.

Be prepared for the best, let’s serve.

How to make these Mexican Street Corn Hot dogs

You won’t believe me how easy and fun these are to make: Warm your hot dog bun according the directions, if you prefer them warmed.

This will depend on your bread and branding. While you’re doing it, mix the roasted corn with the spice mix, season with salt and pepper, going straight to assembling.

Fill your buns with vegan aioli, mustard sauce, vegan sausage (make sure to warm it up before according your directions). Garnish with Mexican street corn and other optional toppings. Again put some sauces on top and enjoy.

These will make an impressive dairy free lunch, dinner or even snack. You know the deal: regular hot dogs are not vegan and gluten free but these are, so everyone will enjoy these.

Plus all the best Mexican street corn flavors, surely an amazing combo.

I served this with 2 sauces. The mustard sauce from my highly popular Vegan Lentil Burger which are made by so many readers and claimed as best burger ever.

So if you haven’t tried it yet, do it. You won’t regret, it’s a thing here.

The second is the outrageously delicious vegan aioli. Oh man, that’s to good to be true. Seriously you won’t note any difference to the real stuff. It’s just as creamy and flavorful, but better.

For sure you can serve these hot dogs just with one sauce, but for real the combination of both gives it that top notch flavor and takes it over the moon.

Those sauces are meant for each other. It’s like a puzzle clicking together every time.

Also the Mexican Street Corn Hot Dogs are a must make for entertaining movie nights, potlucks, and so much more. They are delicious plain, but you can simply serve this with potato chips with sea salt, this is simplicity at its best.

In my opinion no need for more, but if you want an upgrade, I got you covered serve this with these Garlic Parmesan Potatoes to make a more full meal of these.

I warn you it’s a dangerous combo. So dang good.

Just these potatoes are so full of incredible flavors, that you want always lick your plate.

Why we always get a soft spot on Mexican street corn

No wonder it’s a big favorite in Mexico and in the US. If you ever tried a corn chowder, or creamed corn, you can see and feel about this combination.

Classic Mexican street corn is always served in creamy sauce with lots of flavors. No exception in our hot dogs. The vegan aioli will add a lot of flavor to these. It is also so ridiculously creamy as it should be.

You can be sure it’s just the best combo of comfort food with all the best things you can ask for. Plus it will bring you back a big piece of summer as we already are into the fall season.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the summer fun. There’s always room and these will always do the trick.

These look sooo good. Oh how I've missed a good hot dog! Can you please tell me what brand of Vegan sausages you used! I've always struggled finding a good brand that was gluten free. Thanks :)

I used vegan and gluten free sausages from a local shop here in the Netherlands. But If you're in the US you can use lightlife veggie smart dogs protein links.
