You obviously need bagels. The beauty of this recipe is that you can absolutely use what you have on hand or what your personal favorites are: plain, sesame, spicy, with herbs. This is our pizza base instead of using a dough.
As topping we use plant based pepperoni. Can’t miss out on everyone’s number one pizza topping. Meaty, hearty and delicious.
Onion, garlic powder, dried oregano, red pepper flakes are used to add flavor to the sauce we use for the Pizza Bagels. Easy to do and with a fantastic result.
Vegan mozzarella is simply the best pizza cheese: melty, creamy, gooey.
How to make Pizza Bagels
Preheat oven to 420F.
Mix your tomato sauce with garlic, onion powder, oregano and red pepper flakes to make the pizza sauce.
You can use a cutting board and slice your bagels in half and place them on a baking sheet with parchment paper. On each half, use about 3 tsp of the pizza sauce, followed by 2 Tbs of mozzarella and finally 3 slices of pepperoni. You can also as you can see in the step-by-step pictures swap the order.
Bake the Pizza Bagels in the oven for 8 minutes.
Tips and tricks
Leftovers can be used for 3 days and can be reheated by putting them for around 30 seconds in the microwave.
As you can also see, I use 3 slices of mini pepperoni per Pizza Bagel. If you have larger slices, you can used them halved or quartered. In case you want to cut smaller round slices from larger ones, here is my pro tip: use a shot glas upside down and cut the smaller slices out like with a cookie cutter.
For additional bagel toppings: use olives, bell pepper, onions, chilis or even use Alfredo Sauce to mix things up.
