Why you need to try these best Cauliflower Wings

When it comes to Cauliflower Wings, I think about a crispy “skin” on the outside with a spicy touch and a soft and tender inside.

In my recipe, we hit this spot this by using my homemade Wing Sauce in a flour marinade coating, and then covering it in bread crumbs.

I also opted for baking these wings because I found it better keeps the marinade intact compared to deep frying them.

Cauliflower florets are given into a bowl with the Wing Sauce marinade.

How to make Cauliflower Wings

Preheat oven to 430°F  and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Preparing the Marinade

In a bowl combine flour, 1/2 of the sauce (reserve that rest for later), vegan mayo, oil, and plant milk. Season with salt and pepper.

If the mixture becomes too thick and dry (more like a bread dough), add small amounts of plant milk and mix again until the consistency is right. You can see that in the instruction pictures.

In another mixing bowl, combine breadcrumbs with chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, poultry seasoning. Add a pin of salt and pepper to this, too.

Making the Wings

Now dip cauliflower florets in the flour mixture and make sure that the marinade sticks to them and they are completely covered with it.

Toss them in the breadcrumbs mix from all sides, then transfer the florets to the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes until cauliflower is browned.

Take the cauliflower from the oven and mix cauliflower wings with the remaining wing sauce. Return to the oven and bake for 5 minutes more.

Serving suggestions

Personally, I prefer to enjoy these hot and fresh from the oven.  But they can be reheated at a lower temperature in the oven or for a quick fix in the microwave.

Properly stored in an airtight container, they stay fresh for about 4 days in the fridge.

Of course, you can have these plain of with some extra dips or sauces. I recommend to use my Ranch Dip, the Fry Sauce, or the Awesome Sauce

Hi Lena! The oil goes into the marinate and of course the cumin with the breadcrumbs. Hope that helps.
