This Red Curry Paste is homemade, super easy to make and perfect for all curries and stews. All you need is tomato paste, garlic, onions, red chilis, and a spice mix. The best bonus of this naturally vegan recipe is that you can also make it without a mortar, blender, or food processor. It makes this the perfect everyday condiment that will become a family staple.

  • 1 cup tomato paste
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup onions, diced
  • 4 red chilis, seeded
  • spice mix (I used 1 Tbs cumin, 2 tsp chili powder, 3 tsp ground coriander, 3 tsp fresh ginger chopped or a 1 inch knob)
  • salt, pepper to taste

  1. Combine tomato paste, garlic, onions, chilis, and spices in a blender or food processor.
  2. Blend and process until smooth and well combined to a paste.

You can also very easily make this curry paste in a single bowl by just mixing everything together. Use a whisking wire for this. Just make sure that you really finely chop the garlic, onions, chilis, and ginger from the spice mix.
